Description

Crane Bridge
End Carriages
The Structural parts are fabricated from tested quality steel. Crane Bridge are fabricated to box girder from plates. The girders of the crane with box type construction having following definite advantages:

  • More Torsion Rigidity
  • Less Change of Fatigue Stress due to Welding
  • Low Head-room, which reduces the cost of construction of building
  • Stream-lined and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
  • Ease of maintenance and cleaning.
  • Less chance of damage to structure during transportation.

End carriages are fabricated from rolled steel sections or plates and are provided with diaphragm members, connected to the girders to prevent cross bending. The end carriages will be of Single piece construction which reduces the change of bending during transportation. Rubber Buffers will be fitted on each end of carriages.
Crab Assly
Walk Way
The crab frame is fabricated from steel sections and carries hoisting and cross traverse machineries. Double flange carbon steel wheels with support block of L – type bearing are provided The L-Type bearing have following advantages.

  1. It provide two load bearing surfaces at right angle to take vertical as well as horizontal Load.
  2. Wheel load is being transferred through machined pad which prevent failure of holding bolts.
  3. Ease of maintenance during break down. Complete wheel assly can be changed in few minutes.

M.S. Chequered plate with hand railing is provided for maintenance of the crane on one side of bridge to the full length of the crane span.
Geared Coupling
Long Travel Assly
The entire transmission system on the cross traverse and long travel gear boxes is designed with use of geared flexible coupling which have the following advantages :

  • Simple in design and composed of a few parts.
  • No springs to crystallize or break.
  • No rubber bushes to require frequent replacement.
  • It is self-aligning with no bending action at any point of its revolution.
  • Crowned teeth are free to align themselves as in ball and socket joint.
  • Can be used on reversing service without any noise or vibration.
  • Exceptionally long life.
  • Accurately machined for ultimate performance.
  • Simple to align, install and easy to maintain.
  • In capacity of transmitting torque it is the smallest in size and weight in comparison with any other flexible coupling.

This type of arrangement of providing geared couplings (known as ‘floating shaft’ arrangement) has the following advantages:
  • Prevention of mis-alignment of the line shaft due to basic alignment and improper maintenance.
  • Prevention of mis-alignment arising out of differential deflection of crane girders and shafts.
  • Prevention of development of any undue stain in the platform supports which otherwise may give way due to excessive alternate stresses developed in line shaft with rigid couplings.
Single Drive Arrangement & Twin Drive Arrangement are provided as per span of crane. Each drive comprise of totally enclosed oil lubricated horizontal type gear box, Electric motor and fail safe type brake. In case of single drive out put shaft of gear box extends on both sides which drives one wheel of each end carriage on the principle of ‘floating shaft’ In case of twin drive arrgt. out put shaft of gear box extends on one side and drives one wheel of the end carriage.
